User Management
User management is used to manage, view, and modify
- User Management
User Management is the core feature used to create and manage users by role, such as student, instructor, and Admin. Similarly, users can view new features. In User Management, it is the central hub for creating, organising, and maintaining user accounts that cover students, instructors, and admins, without requiring users to register on their own. Through this module, the admin can instantly set up login credentials, assign roles, monitor account statuses, and take actions such as blocking or deleting accounts. From this, we can create an instructor.
Types of User Management
User Management in DPLMS is divided into two main sub-modules:
• Users — In User Management, it is used to manage all general user, including students and admins.
• Instructors —It is used to manage instructor accounts who are responsible for delivering and managing courses.
1.1. Users
In the DPLMS platform, the user is used to make the user register more students or people as users in the DPLMS. Similarly, an account can belong to a student, instructor, or admin role. The admin creates accounts directly with login credentials; no OTP or self-registration is required, which makes user onboarding fast and fully controlled by the admin.
1.1.1. Features of Users
Create: We can add a new user account with Full name, email, password, phone (optional), and role. Similarly, it allows users to create a secure password.
View: We can see all user accounts listed in a table with name, email, phone, role, status, and join date.
Search: We can filter the user list quickly using the search box by name or email.
Export: We can download a summary or full detailed report of all users for record-keeping.
Block: We can temporarily suspend or block a specific user's access without deleting their account data.
Delete: We can permanently remove a user account from the system.
1.1.2. Roles
| Role | Purpose |
| Student | Default learner role; used to enrol in and attend courses. |
| Instructor | Leads or delivers training sessions and courses. |
| Admin | Full administrative access to the entire LMS platform. |
1.2. Instructors
Instructors are the accounts responsible for teaching and managing courses. The Admin creates and manages instructor accounts the same way as regular users, but with teaching permissions.
1.2.1. How it works (stepwise):
- Admin goes to User Management.
- Admin clicks "Add new" and chooses Student, Instructor, or Admin role.
- Admin fills in name, email, and password.
- Admin saves it, and the new account is created instantly.
- The admin can later view, search for, block, or delete the account from the list.
1.3. Advantages of User Management
- Easy to add new students or teachers anytime
- Admin can see all users in one list
- Blocking stops a user without deleting their data
- Searching helps find a user quickly
- No need for OTP or self-signup; faster setup
1.4. Disadvantage of User Management
- Deleting a user removes their data permanently, with no backup
- Admin has to create every account; no bulk import shown
- No activity log showing what a user did after login
- Mistyping an email while creating an account could cause login issues
- Too many users could make the list harder to manage over time.
